Attachment Center of Kansas

Helping Families Build Stronger Connections

The Attachment Center of Kansas specializes in providing effective attachment and trauma focused treatment and parenting interventions for children who are experiencing mild to severe attachment and/or trauma based difficulties that are adversely impacting their emotional health and interpersonal relationships.  Often these difficulties are related to Reactive Attachment Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Complex Child Trauma, Developmental Trauma Disorder and/or Child Abuse.

Treatment is family focused and parents are active participants in the therapy process.  Parents/caretakers are provided with support, education on attachment and/or trauma in children and training in home-based interventions to assist in the healing process.

Services are provided by a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker who is a Registered Attachment Clinician and Board Certified in Child Trauma with 30 years of experience in the mental health field and over 250 hours of training in attachment and child trauma.

Treatment is also available for children struggling with grief and loss difficulties, adjustment, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem and parent/child relationship difficulties.

Hardwired to Connect

“In the midst of unprecedented material affluence, large and growing numbers of U.S. children and adolescents are failing to flourish…more and more young people are suffering from mental illness, emotional distress, and behavioral problems. What’s causing this crisis of American childhood is a lack of connectedness – close connections to other people and deep connections to moral and spiritual meaning.”
